"Rare" is the first and title track from Selena Gomez's third studio album of the same name. It was released through Interscope Records on January 10, 2020.

Background

The song was recorded by Madison Love, Emily Warren and Charli XCX before Gomez. The song's existence was first revealed in an Instagram Live by Gomez on August 15, 2018. Later that day, songwriter Leland confirmed his involvement in the song. Gomez teased the song's lyrics in an interview with Elle in September 2018. The song was then teased in the Rare album trailer.
